Environmental policy

Proofed Beyond Doubt is committed to protecting the environment, and recognizes that businesses of all sizes can achieve significant cost savings and other benefits from the waste minimisation and good environmental practices that stem from an effective environmental policy.

This environmental policy provides a clear statement to our clients that we understand our environmental impacts and are taking action to reduce them.

We recognise that our main service – the proofreading of electronic and paper materials - involves the use of computers and other electrical equipment which result in CO2 emissions, and the generation of waste products, chiefly paper. It is our aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our business and to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy describes how we will achieve our aim.

Responsibility

This environmental policy applies to all of our operations including proofreading activities, administration, delivery and procurement.

1: Energy efficiency
  • use of energy efficient lighting
  • switching off computers and other electrical equipment when not in use.

2: Reduction in paper consumption
  • only printing when necessary
  • using recycled paper, and printing on both sides when possible
  • reuse of single-sided printed sheets
  • offering electronic proofreading as an alternative to paper-based proofreading.

3: Recycling
All waste materials will be segregated and recycled where possible, including:
  • newspapers
  • magazines
  • cardboard
  • ink cartridges
  • plastics
  • tins
  • foil

4: Communication
  • All new clients and suppliers will be informed of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

This environmental policy and progress against our objectives will be reviewed quarterly.
